Fayne M. (McCaffrey) Meyer

Fayne M. Meyer, 93, of Torrington passed away, October 18, 2021 at her home. She was the widow of William F. Meyer, Sr.

She was born on November 13, 1927 in Torrington the daughter of the late John J. and Vernonica (Murphy) McCaffrey.

She worked for the City of Torrington as the director  of  the Nutrition Program and also started the Meals on Wheels Program.  In retirement she enjoyed traveling and loved her winters in Florida.  

She is survived by 4 sons, William (Skip) Meyer, Jr. and his wife Pamela of South Bend, Indiana, Gerrard and his wife Anita of Arlington, Texas, Richard and his wife Colleen of Torrington, and Jeffrey and his wife Nancy of Bristol.

She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Robert Fernandez, Jill and her husband Jon Hudson, Erica Meyer, Melissa and her husband Patrick McAuliffe and Michael his wife Michaela Meyer, Christopher and his wife Cara Meyer, Lindsey and her husband Ashton Daniel, Megan, Mark, and Madison Meyer.

13 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Mason, Ellie, Kaleb, Kaylee Stella, Poppy, Mario, Logan. Brookes, Cal, Mariah, Avery and Mallory. And several nieces and nephews.

 She is predeceased in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Robert McLaughlin, a brother, John  and his wife Marion Mc Caffrey. Sisters-in-law, Louvima and her husband Alexander Lejeune, Jean and her husband Larry Hurlbut.  A special thanks to her niece, Susan Schapp for everything she did for our Mom and Dad.

The funeral will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:30 First Congregational Church, 835 Riverside Ave. Torrington, CT 06790. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call at Phalen FuneralHome285 Migeon Ave. Torrington, CT 06790 on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
