   Harwinton – Ernest Fredrick Barnes Jr., 59 of Harwinton passed on the morning of Thursday, January 20th, 2022, at The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital peacefully with his family at his side. He was the husband of 25 years of Barbara L. McDonald-Barnes. He was born in Hartford on September 14, 1962, son of the late Ernest F. and Anna E. Grabiec Barnes. He was a print pressman for Federal Business Products for many years and most recently was employed by Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Litchfield Wood Health Care Center Until he became ill. He was an active member of The Advent Christian Church of Torrington. 

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two sons, Ernest III of Harwinton, David McDonald and his wife Danielle of West Cornwall, as well as three grandsons.

He was the brother of the late Barbara J. Dudley and leaves behind a brother-in-law William Dudley of Winsted, a sister Elizabeth Burkhart of Torrington, A brother-in-law Glen K. Burkhart of Winter Haven, Fl., a niece Jessica Burkhart and two great-nephews.

A private graveside funeral will be held for immediate family.

A memorial/celebration of life will be held at The Advent Christian Church on Saturday February 19th from 11-4.
