Elvin Charles (“Charlie”) Carpenter, 62, of Thomaston, CT, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on September 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Winchester, CT on March 30, 1962. He was the son of the late Elvin and Dolores (Lemelin) Carpenter. Charlie is survived by his wife Fran, daughter Jennifer and son Joshua, sister Barbara, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son Jason, brothers David and Dale and sister Joyce. Charlie worked as a machinist for many years and also in modular home building and carpentry. He loved to camp and enjoyed the outdoors. In his later years, he loved to sit in his favorite chair overlooking the bird feeders in his yard. He loved southern rock music, in particular Lynyrd Skynyrd. Charlie, you are free now… fly high free bird.
