Ellen (Robinson) Hammond

Ellen Hammond of Torrington passed from this life on April 7, 2022. She was born in 1935 to Maurice and Grace Robinson of Biddeford, Maine. Ellen raised her family in Torrington before retiring to Jensen Beach, Florida. She lived in Torrington with her daughter Robin Goff over the last five years. Known for her great disposition and love of family, her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her. Her love of animals and nature was legendary. She was a genuine patriot and was extremely proud of her service in the Air Force. She served as a radar tech at Syracuse Air Force base until 1955. She had a tremendous love of travel, especially enjoying frequent trips to visit her extended family in Maine. Ellen was active in the Veneta Society, the Eagles Club and the Elks Club.

She was predeceased by her husband Bill Hammond in 2004. She is survived by a sister, Beth Harriman and a brother Steve Robinson, both living in Maine. Her sister-in-law Holly and her husband John Fisher live in Somers, CT. Ellen's children are Tom Hammond of Canaan, CT, Billy Hammond of New Preston, CT, Robin Goff of Torrington, CT and Cindy Bruno, also of Torrington. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart.

Graveside Services will be held May 7th at 10 AM at Hillside Cemetery.
