Edith Jennie (Busher) Leonardi, 91, of Harwinton, CT, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026 in the company of her loving family.
Born November 1st 1934 in Rockville, CT, Edith grew up in Torrington, graduating from Torrington High in 1951. Nursing school followed, after which she worked as a nurse at Bristol Hospital. In 1957, she married Bruno Natale Leonardi and shared 66 loving years by his side (known to him as “Tootsie”) until his passing in 2023.
Edith took an active role in her community; as den mother of Cub Scout Pack 36, Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and catechist at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Professionally, she worked as lunch lady at Harwinton Consolidated Elementary and was pivotal to the success of her husband’s business as secretary and treasurer of Leonardi Building Co.
She cherished spending time with family, with winters spent at her home in Naples, Florida and summers in West Dover, Vermont. At home, Edith enjoyed cooking for the whole family, especially when she hosted for birthdays and holidays. She instilled her values and discipline on her family: that we should gather at 5:30 each evening for supper. Do not be late!
Edith is survived by her two sons, Bruno and Michael; her daughter Linda (Bradley) Charron; and her grandchildren Eric (Tanisha) Charron and Brandon Charron. She was preceded in death by her parents Kyle and Ellen (Erickson) Busher, and brother, Howard Busher.
