Duel Owens

Duel J. Owens Sr., 83, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Duel was predeceased by his beloved wife, Donna Lee Owens; his son, Douglas Owens; and his sister, Melba Anderson. He is survived by his sons, David Owens and Duel Jr. Owens; his brother, Rudy Owens and his spouse, Marge; his sister-in-law, Joanie Sugarak; as well as his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews across the country.

Born in Arizona on September 18, 1942, to the late Pauline Gilton Owens and Duel Owens. Duel was known as a caring and dependable man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a deep love for Elvis music and treasured the time he spent with his family. A true fighter, Duel courageously battled multiple bouts of cancer throughout his life and faced every challenge with strength and determination.

He will be remembered most for his devotion to home and family, his resilience, and his unwavering spirit.

Family and friends are invited to join in sharing memories, stories, and laughter as we celebrate Duel’s life on March 29, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ Congregational, 5 Old Middle Street, Goshen, Connecticut.
