Doris Ann (Russo) Richards, passed away on September 16, 2024. She was the wife and soulmate of Jack Richards for 56 years. Born in Torrington on Feb. 13, 1936, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Dranginis) Russo, she worked at PTC Aerospace in Bantam for 25 years, retiring to North Hutchinson Island FL. Returning to Torrington, she became her husband's caregiver, and also assisted in the support group and Alzheimer's Walk at Valerie Manor where Jack resided for 4 years before he passed from Lewi Body Dementia. She then became a volunteer at several schools where her grandchildren attended. Next, she became a volunteer and commissioner at Sullivan Senior Center for 10 years. Doris loved to dance, especially line dancing. she was one of the ladies who danced on Main Street with young dancers in the Flash Mob at the Market Place which was a big hit on YouTube for years. She lived a full, loved, happy, fun life and was grateful for the many friends that were in her life.
Doris leaves her cherished daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Linc Brucker of New Hartford, granddaughter Jacqueline Wienckowski Pickert Lucas the love of her life great-grandchildren Mia Helen Pickert and Eugene Harrison Pickert and nephew Frank and wife Robin Russo of New Jersey, many Dranginis cousins and friend Joy and husband Dave Kilmer. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Richards and her son Frank, her parents and her brother Frank and wife Betty Russo. Services are at the convenience of the family.
