David R Spino

On Saturday, August 31, 2019, David R Spino,  loving husband, father, son, and friend passed away at age 53 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Vanessa Blaszka Spino. David was born in Torrington, CT on August 25, 1966, the son of Geri (DeFranz) Spino and the late Roland Spino,  He was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical School,  Class of 1984.

He was employed by Ocean State Job Lot in Litchfield.He previously worked for Region 6 School District and was involved in the family business,  Spino's Menswear in Torrington until it closed. He was known for his jokes, hearty laugh and generous nature. He loved to be outside working and helping his daughter’s keep their cars tuned up.  He also enjoyed playing the drums and listening to classic rock. He also enjoyed sitting around a firepit, coin collecting, feeding the birds and indulging his grandkitties. He was a member of The Knight of Columbus at St. Thomas.

In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves daughters Erika Spino of Goshen and Allison Spino of Bowling Green, KY, a sister Laurie Theroux and husband Thomas of South Windsor,  and several nieces and nephews.

The family encourages memorial donations to Goshen Volunteer Fire Company or Mental Health CT and for you to be a blood donor and/or be an organ donor.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 7th at Saint Thomas Church in Goshen, with burial following at Saint  Thomas Cemetery.  www.phalenfuneral.com
