David Rinhart Ruhm

David Rinhart Ruhm, 77, New Hartford, Connecticut, went home peacefully to our merciful Savior
on September 29,2019. David was born in Springfield, MA on May 6, 1942, son of Sidney R. and
Helen C (Laska) Ruhm, both deceased. He graduated from Canton High School in 1961 and updated
his education with courses taken at Waterbury State Technical years later. He retired to South
Kingstown, Rhode Island, and in 2007 moved back to another home in New Hartford, CT.

His employment started early working in tobacco fields as a young teen, at a Concrete Company in
Farmington, honed his machining abilities in Farmington Machinery, Hartford Special Machinery in
Simsbury and Fenn Manufacturing in Newington before retiring early in 2005. He was an NC
Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, and was advanced to being the Manager of Process
Engineering at Fenn Manufacturing. David's skills also included woodworking, car restoration of
three cars, and gardening and raising a variety of animals.

David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith D. Ruhm of New Hartford, son Douglas Ruhm,
daughter Cynthia Ruhm and her son Rylan Deane, and his precious family by affection, Darrin and
Diane Versari, Mitchell (wife Brianna and daughter Gabriella), Kyle, and Nathan.

Sister Julie A. MacGregor of Winsted, niece Lisa (and Jason) Lang and CJ, Caleb Andreasen and Kelsey
Andreasen, niece Andrea (Scott) Richardson and Scotty, Jacqueline ,Elizabeth, and cousins, Frank
Cebula, Christine(Vinny) Kluczewski , Janice Gudinkas, Gary (Mary) Kudinkas, and Jim, Ed Bailey,
Glen Bailey (Mickey), Michael Laska, Sandy Laska, Karen Matthews, and Mark Laska., brother in law,
Brian Dobbs, and nephew Jason Dobbs (Mariah) and Micah, Leah, Ethan, and Owen Dobbs, niece,
Jennifer Tidd (Aaron) and Grace.

The family wishes to express gratitude to all those at Valerie Manor who cared for Dave as if he
was part of their own family. A Memorial service at First Congregational Church in Torrington is
planned for October 26, 2019 at 11 AM There will be calling hours at Phalen Funeral home

in Torrington on Friday, October25, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM     . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in

David's name may be sent to First Congregational Church of Torrington, 835 Riverside Avenue,
Torrington, CT. 06790.
