David C Hill

David Carlyle Hill, a beloved resident of Litchfield, Connecticut, passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on November 4, 1953, in the picturesque town of Washington, David’s journey was characterized by laughter and love. Known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, David was a graduate of Shepaug Valley High School and left his mark at Kimberly Clark in New Milford before embarking on a diverse career path that included massage therapy and driving for All-Star Transportation.
In his free time, David found joy in singing, music, photography, camping, bird watching and hiking. He cherished every moment spent with his granddaughter Mae, and their bond brought him immeasurable happiness as well as an extra sparkle to his eyes.
He was predeceased by his father Elmer Hill, mother Dorothy (Geyer) Hill, and brother Michael Hill. He is survived by his loving wife Susan (Goodman) Hill, daughters Devin (Hill) Gagnon and Kaitlin Hill, son-in-law Matthew Gagnon, and granddaughter Mae Gagnon. He also leaves behind his sisters Kerry Saharek, Kathy Holden, Julie Schwindt, Elena Kaut, and her husband Michael Kaut, and a host of cherished family and friends who will miss him deeply.
In celebrating the life of David let us remember his laughter, his love for his family, and his unwavering sense of humor that brought light into our lives. While he may no longer be with us, his memory will live in our hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Wolcott Hall in Torrington for their extraordinary care and kindness.

The family will receive friends and family on September 22nd at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Avenue, Torrington from 9:30 am to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield at 11:00 AM
