David V. Gianni, Sr, 70, of Torrington, passed away Friday, April 2nd, at Bristol Hospital. He was the life companion of Lisa Vincent
David was born in Torrington, CT on August 23, 1950, a son of the late Domenica (Ascenzo) and Sebastian Gianni, and graduated from Torrington High in 1969.
He served in The US Army National Guard and was employed by PTC Aerospace for many years, and retired from Pratt and Whitney. He also delivered newspapers for many years which he greatly enjoyed.
David is survived by his two children, David Gianni, Jr. and Thomas Gianni, both of Torrington. The dedication and love that he had for his children was profound and he dedicated his life to the welfare of David Jr. for the past seventeen years. He also leaves his life companion, Lisa Vincent of Torrington, and her four children, Ashley Hugg (Jason), and Edward, William and Jose Vincent. David is survived by his brother Gary and his wife, Susan, of Torrington, and was predeceased by his older brother Vincent Gianni (Joyce). In addition, David leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends.
David was a selfless person with a big heart. He was witty and charismatic and kind. He had a love of fast cars, Yankees baseball and he truly valued all of his friends and the time he was able to spend with them. The dedication that he had for his loved ones will never be forgotten.
Burial will be private and there are no calling hours. The Vincent and Gianni families will host a Celebration of David's Life at their family home on Saturday, May 1, 2021. All activities will be outdoors and COVID Safe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Community Kitchen of Torrington. c/o Lisa Hageman.
