D. Engle Obituary

David Scott Engle, 63, of Torrington, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 16th. He was married to the love of his life, his wife of 37 years, Jana Caruso Engle.

Scott was born in Jamestown, PA on March 23rd, 1958, a son of Ellen (Croyle) Engle, of Torrington and the late David C Engle.

He was employed as an IT Analyst for the State of Connecticut for 20 years before his retirement.

He was also the lead guitarist and a vocalist for the "Night Moves" band for over 30 years. He had a great sense of humor and a passion for music, and enjoyed traveling with his wife, boating, cruising with friends, and playing golf.

He was the proud father of daughters Tara Curry of Torrington, Briana Smith and her husband Jeremy of Goshen, and son Jesse Engle of Waltham, MA; and a loving pappap to grandchildren Ora and Daley Curry and Mavrik Smith. He leaves a brother Tim Engle and his wife Joni, sister Kristin Thornton and her husband Robert, and several nieces and nephews. He lived life to the fullest, loved deeply, and always laughed at his own jokes first.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 23rd at the Hillside Cemetery chapel. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington, CT.
