Corrine Grace (Amoroso) D'Angelo

Corrine Grace D’Angelo (Amoroso) passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2022, in Torrington, CT with her daughter Carole and granddaughter Jennifer by her side. Corrine was born in Middletown on February 19, 1927, to Joseph and Anna Amoroso (Zampini). She was a graduate of Torrington High School, Class of 1944, and from there she attended St. Mary’s in Waterbury to become a registered nurse. Corrine graduated from St. Mary’s in 1947 and went on to work in labor and delivery at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for 51 years until she retired at the age of 70. She was always proud to say that during her time at the hospital she “delivered so many babies throughout the years” before the doctor had arrived. She stayed on as a per diem nurse for several years even after her retirement. Corrine always remained active, working part time in New Hartford at Annie’s Book Stop for several years, keeping up with her yard work well into her nineties and attending spin class at Odyssey Fitness until she was 93 years old. She also loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her cats and her “great grand puppies” who she liked to walk every day.

Corrine is predeceased by her husband Fred D’Angelo. She is survived by her son Fred D’Angelo and Daughter in Law Elizabeth Beyrer, Son in Law Albert Thebarge and daughter Carole Thebarge (D’Angelo) and her granddaughter Jennifer Janco and partner Christopher Gutierrez. 

Visitation hours for Corrine will be held on Saturday May 21, 2022, at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Avenue Torrington, CT from 9:00am to 10:00am. She will then be laid to rest with her husband Fred at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to The Last Post Cat Sanctuary in Falls Village in Corrine’s memory.
