Colleen (McLaughlin) Williams
Torrington, CT – Colleen Williams passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28. Colleen was born on June 7, 1956 in Torrington, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Robert and Joan (McCaffrey) McLaughlin.
Colleen attended Torrington High School and was the first female varsity member of the Torrington High School swim team. Colleen worked at the Devereux Glenholme School for over 20 years before retiring. In her retirement she enjoyed travel, spending time with her family and friends, helping others when she could, and anything Irish (including the University of Notre Dame).
She is predeceased by her late husband, Donald (Billy) Williams Jr. She is survived by her two children: Meghan (Michael) McCarthy and Patrick (Christine) Williams and four grandchildren: Seth Williams, Dean Williams, Malorie McCarthy, and Maeve McCarthy. She is also survived by her sister Susan (William) Schapp and brothers Thomas McLaughlin, Brian (Andrea) McLaughlin, and David (Cindy) McLaughlin. She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Church at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, with burial following at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, October 2 from 10AM – 12PM at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Avenue, Torrington, CT. WWW.Phalenfuneral.com
