Clara Louise (Ford) Boulay passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022.
Born in Fall River, MA on June 5,1935, to the late Samuel B. Ford and Clara Louise (Lee) Ford, Louise graduated from Jesus Marie Academy High School in Fall River. She was married to high school sweetheart George E. Boulay for 69 years. Together they, and their family, relocated to Torrington, CT in 1964. For many years, Louise worked as a volunteer for St. Mary’s as a seamstress, librarian, CYO coordinator. She was awarded a St. Joseph Medal of Service for her work in the parish and also served as a troupe leader and volunteer with the Northwest CT Girl Scout Council for over 30 years. Active in her high school alumni association, Louise loved to travel; she enjoyed knitting, sewing and ceramics and was an avid UConn basketball fan. In her spare time, she also managed the Putnam Hallmark Store and the Skyvue Drive-in. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, often traveling great distances to attend the many plays and sporting events that involved her five children and nine grandchildren.
In addition to her husband George, she is survived by her five children Elizabeth Lent and husband David of Epsom, NH, Donna Reidy and husband Robert of Worcester, MA, Jayne Boulay and wife Suzanne Dobkins of Newington, CT, William Boulay and wife Cathy of Anchorage, AK, Jeffrey Boulay and partner Nancy of Townsend, MA, daughter-in-law Christy Boulay, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Ben Ford. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday at 11 AM at Saint Francis Church, with entombment to follow at Saint Peter Cemetery. On line memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
