Chester J Turbacuski, 97, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, September 3rd, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Sophie Szurley Turbacuski.
Chester was born in Great Barrington, MA on April 18, 1921, a of the late Julia and Stephen Turbacuski and served in the U.S. Navy in WW II.
He was a retired Tool and Die Maker at The Torrington Co and had also worked for White Flower Farm and Driscoll Mortuary. He was a Communicant of Saint Mary's Church and a member of Torrington Elks Lodge. He enjoyed a full life after the death of his wife. His children kept him busy with babysitting, daytrips, and vacations, or just lunch with grandsons. He enjoyed UCONN basketball, especially the women.
He is survived by daughters Laurie Roys of Torrington, Celine Morosky and husband Steve of Litchfield, and Marysa Maliszewski and husband Mike of Torrington and a son Bruce Turbacuski and wife Lori of Hanson MA. He also leaves grandchildren Tyler and Christopher Roys, Jason Morosky, Derek Turbacuski and Erin Stande, and Caitlyn and Danielle Maliszewski and great grandchildren Conor Turbacuski and Jack an Ella Stande.
He was predeceased by sisters Anna Grigos and Sophie Miklos and brothers Stanley and Felix Turbacuski, and son in law Grove Roys III.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 8th at Saint Francis Church in Torrington, with burial following at Hillside Cemetery.
