Charles (“Charlie”) D’Angelo, Jr., 88, of Farmington, CT, formerly of Cheshire, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Friday, January 22, 2021. A private man with a big heart, he cared for others as if they were his own. He’s now joined The Lord for everlasting care.
Charlie served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years.
He earned an associates degree from Bryant College and a masters in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked as a broker, accountant, and income tax preparer.
People loved working for Charlie; he let them shine to the best of their ability.
Charlie was always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on to those in need of support or encouragement. With his cheerful demeanor, he effortlessly brought smiles and laughter to those around him. He delighted in cooking and sharing Italian food in the tradition of his parents’ culinary talents. He relished in the performing arts, whether it be a Broadway show, an opera (Italian, of course!) or a concert. Known affectionately as “Baba” to his grandchildren, Charlie enjoyed hearing of their antics, both in person and from afar.
Surviving Charlie are his long-time partner; his former wife and their two sons and three daughters; and his three grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held on a future date when conditions allow for safe travel and close gathering of friends and family.
