Carol C. Metro of Litchfield peacefully passed away on April 13, 2020 at Danbury Hospital. Due to visitation restrictions in this unfortunate time, no one was allowed in the hospital to enjoy
her company or cheer her up. Her family and friends are grateful for the doctors and nurses who tried to fill that void on our behalf.
Born in San Francisco CA on August 17, 1943 to Jane (Weigold) Carbone and Joseph P. Carbone, Carol attended Torrington schools and graduated from Torrington High School, class of 1961. An avid reader and gardener, Carol had an artistic eye and diverse interests, including entertaining and cooking for family and her many friends. As a young adult, she hosted a lifestyle show on local TV. Carol was a welcome and uplifting addition to any gathering, large or small. She easily shared her special sense of humor, steadfastly kept confidences and offered thoughtful insights to those she knew needed encouragement.
Carol worked in the insurance industry for decades, most recently with Farm Family in Litchfield. She was an active member of The Milton Historic District Committee.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by a brother, Michael. She will be sadly missed by her brother and sister-in-law, J. Peter and Judy (Waltos) Carbone of Canton, her
nieces and their families, Katie and Robert Brainard, grand-nephew Jacob Brainard and grand- niece Bella Brainard of Barkhamsted and Melanie and Joseph Voelker of Burlington, her
longtime companion, Chad Mitchell of Milton, many cousins and many friends.
Services will be held Monday Aug. 31 at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church 21 Fern Dr in Torrington.. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice. online memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
