Carmelo "Carmen" Lamanna, 92, of Torrington, CT passed away Monday, September 25th, peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of 64 years of Lucy D'Angelo Lamanna
Carmelo was born in Torrington on April 29, 1931, son of the late Anthony and Salvatricia Balsamo Lamanna. He served in the US Army in post-war Germany. He was employed by Saint Francis Church for many years and later worked in maintenance for the Torrington Housing Authority for 25 years before his retirement. An avid gardener, and he enjoyed fishing and watching his favorite team, the New England Patriots and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he leaves sons, Keith and wife Kristen Lamanna and Mark and wife Sandra Lamanna, grandchildren Ryan and wife Taylor Lamanna and Kyle Lamanna and fiance Rosa Pagano great grandchildren Lily and Leo. He also leaves a brother Frank and wife Vernadette and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Joseph and Leo.
The Divine Liturgy of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday Sept 29th at 11 AM at Saint Maron Church 613 Main St Torrington. Entombment will follow at Saint Peter Mausoleum. Friends may call at Church prior to the service from 10-11 AM. Memorial Contributions can be made to Saint Maron Church or to the Winsted Veterans Clinic.
