Barry A Murphy

Barry Murphy, age 70, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born in Torrington, CT on January 15, 1955, to Terrence and Rita (Meyer) Murphy, he attended Torrington High School and Charter Oak State College. He flew small cargo for High Flight and then worked as a metallurgist for the Torrington Company and RBC. He and Kathleen, his wife of 49 years, traveled together, cooked together, but spent most of the last two decades spending time with their grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, gardener, and reader who always had a joke to share.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen (Kittle), daughter Sarah, her husband Thomas Bloomer, daughter Amy, son Barry; his grandchildren Olivia, Benjamin, Mae, Daniel, Greta, Sean; his siblings Terrence III, his wife Deanne, Richard, his wife Kathleen, Dennis, his husband John Stafstrom, Sheila Kennedy, her husband David, and Ellen Dougan, her husband Kevin, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
Services will be held on January 18, 2025, at 11:00 am at Saint Thomas of Villanova, part of Saint Louis de Montfort Parish in Goshen, CT. with burial at New Saint Francis Cemetery.
