Barry Kingsley Beecher, 74 Winchester Center, passed away Wednesday, April 21st, at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary Anne Hackett Beecher, the love of his life, who died in 2006.
Barry was born in Winsted, CT on April 24, 1946, a son of the late Betty (Hall) and Kingsley Beecher. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He had been employed as a truck driver, working for LaTulipe Construction and Merli Motors before his retirement.
He was a long time member of Winchester Grange and was a Past Master, and a 7th
Degree Mason. He was also a member of Saint Andrew's Lodge of Masons
He was a member of Bakerville Volunteer Fire Dept. and Winchester Fire Dept., where he had served as training officer.
Surviving are his children Kingsley Beecher of Winchester and Kelley Whiting and husband Sam of Florida. He also leaves grandchildren Jessica and Samantha Whiting and Nicole and Mason Beecher. He also leaves a sister Sandra Phillips and her husband Earl of Bakerville and was predeceased by a sister Shirley Lemieux and husband Gerrard.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 30th at 1 PM at Winchester Green,Winchester. Burial will follow at Winchester Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 PM at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington.
