Barbara McCurdy Obituary

 Barbara (Nelson) McCurdy, 92, of Torrington, died peacefully at home Wednesday, May 27th, 2020. She was the loving wife of Robert for 64 years before his passing in 2018.

Barbara was born March 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Ethel (Mason) and Harry Nelson and was employed at The Torrington Company for many years before her retirement. She was a Communicant of Saint Maron's Church. Barbara loved spending time with her family, Sunday dinners were very important to her.  She also enjoyed her many trips with her niece Cheryl Demonstranti Thomas of Florida.

She is survived by her son Donald McCurdy Sr and his partner Heather Murray of Winsted, grandchildren Donald McCurdy Jr and his girlfriend Jessica Piorkowski of New Hartford, Jessica McCurdy Allen and her husband Robert of New Hartford and Michael McCurdy and his fiance Candace Cullen of Torrington.  She also leaves great grandchildren Ayden McCurdy, Damien and Izabella Allen, Jayden Smith and Carter McCurdy. She was predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth Shandra, Shirley Pastore and Marilyn Killiany and brothers Frank, Donald, Robert and David Nelson.

Graveside Services are at Saint Peter Cemetery in Great Barrington MA. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there are no calling hours. Online Memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
