Barbara (Krisak) Gardiner

"Death was an unwelcome guest".

Barbara Krisak Gardiner, 90, of Torrington died May 5, 2021 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late Andrew Gardiner.  Barbara was born in Torrington on November  9, 1930 daughter of the late Mary (Haburay) and John Krisak.  She attended Sacred Heart School and Torrington High School graduating in 1948.  She worked for SNET in Torrington and was a long time Communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

As the Matriarch,  Barbara lived a long and happy life and loved spending time with her family,  traveling, her heated pool, and her Shih Tzus.

She leaves her son Gerry Gardiner and his partner Mike DeStefano, daughters Susie Gardiner and Sara Gardiner-Toce,  her beloved granddaughters Danielle and Julianne Toce and Caroline Kearney,  and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Krisak Yanok.  Graveside Services will be held June 11, at 1:00 PM at Old Saint Francis Cemetery in Torrington.  www.phalenfuneral.com
