Anthony Carey

Anthony “Tony” Carey, 65, of Torrington, left this world on November 12, 2022.
Anthony was born and raised in Torrington on November 28 th , 1956, son of the late Joseph and Faye (Spiotta) Carey. He was a graduate of Torrington High School class of 1974. Anthony was a longtime member of the Torrington Eagles Club where he liked to play pool.
Anthony worked at the Torrington Company for many years before joining his brother’s company Carey Construction and ended his professional career in 2016 with Microbest in Waterbury. Anthony found joy in sharing his love for the New York Yankees with family and friends, camping, going to the beach,
watching movies, listening to his Beatles album collection, sharing stories with strangers, experiencing new places, and making memories with his daughter.
Anthony is survived by his daughter Kristina (Carey) D’Amico and her husband Jeremy and grandson Atlas of Woodbury, ex-wife and dear friend Barbara (Sterling) Carey of Torrington, brother Paul Carey of Goshen, nephew Joseph Carey and his wife Michaela of Torrington, niece Kaitlyn Carey of Torrington, and several cousins and lifelong friends.
Preceding him in death were his best friends and brothers William Carey of Torrington and Francis Carey of Goshen.
Family and friends may call 5-7pm on Thursday December 1 st at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Friendly Hands Food Bank, fhfb.org
