Thomas James Gilson

Thomas James Gilson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 29,2017

Tom as he was known to all was born in Torrington,Connecticut on February 26,1936

He was a meat cutter by trade and was co owner of Value Mart,Torrington Beef and the Litchfield Locker prior to retirement.

He was a proud member of the US ARMY as well as the Germania Singing Society where he enjoyed many of his friends company.

Toms favorite things in life were family,friends the Green Bay Packers and the West Virginia Mountaineers.

His favorite place was the ocean ,any ocean.but he was very partial to Charlestown Beach ,Rhode Island where he spent many years gazing at Block Island.

A memorial service will be planned for early June to celebrate Toms life which was a gift to all of us.
