Theresa Proulx

Theresa Proulx, 90, of Torrington Conn, entered eternal happiness on November 16, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born June 9, 1928 in Gaspe, Quebec, Canada.  She immigrated to the US in 1952.  She took residence in Waterbury CT.  She met Ralph J Proulx that year and they were married on April 16, 1953 in St Anne’s Church in Waterbury.  They were married for almost fifty years when Ralph passed on in 2001. In 1960, they moved to Watertown and she spent the majority of her life at the family home there.  Theresa was a member of the St Michael church parish family for over 25 years. She was known to everyone as Ma Proulx. All of her children’s friends became her own.  The house was always open, and she spent time taking care of her “family”, all hundreds of them.  Her unending love, sense of humor, faith and hope were always her gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Theresa was an avid cook and was more than happy to share what she created with others. She had an intense love of animals and took great joy in caring for the 4 legged members of her family.  She would spend her summers working in her flower gardens and loved to crochet beautiful blankets for anyone who asked.

She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses.  Ralph Proulx Jr and Timothy Cronk, Robert and Laure Proulx all of Watertown and Alice Proulx and Derek Larmett of Torrington. Along with these 3 children there is also James Rosipko her other “son “of Watertown.   She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Joseph Proulx and his wife Allison, and Jessica Proulx of Watertown and Derek Larmett Jr of Torrington, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Michael Church 62 St. Michael Dr Waterbury CT. on December 15, 2018 at 10 AM..  Family and friends are requested to come to the Church at 9:30.  There are no viewing hours, and interment will be private at a later time.
