Stephen A Jakubowski

Stephen A. Jakubowski, 69, or Ski as he liked to be called passed away suddenly in his longtime home in Barkhamsted Monday January 23, 2017. He was born in East Windsor son of the late Henry and Helen Kleczkowski Jakubowski and proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy and The National Guard. He graduated from The University of Hartford with a Degree in Electronics Technology . He worked with a number of companies throughout Connecticut including Torin Corporation, Sterling Engineering, and Hamilton Sundstrand where he retired in 2005. Stephen was a true family man and his greatest passion and joy was found spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Kathleen Nassif Jakubowski, daughter Amanda Whittaker and husband Trevon and his granddaughter Tiana, and daughter Ashley Hudach and husband Michael. He also leaves a sister Carol Lines and nephews Charles and Daniel of Atlanta GA. He was predeceased by a sister Harriet Bertsch. Stephen's passion and furor for music was evident in his involvement in the Choir of St. John's Church in Pine Meadow as well as his skilled performances on his beloved accordion, an instrument he taught for several years. He believed one was never too old to learn taking many online and correspondence courses. He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held February 4th at 1:00 PM at Saint John's Church in Pine Meadow. Memorial Contributions can be made to Saint John's Church or Hands of Grace in New Hartford. www.phalenfuneral.com
