Rose C Alexander

It is with great sadness that the family of Rose C. Alexander announces her passing at the age of 87 on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at Litchfield Woods with her family by her side. A lifelong resident of Torrington, Rose was the beloved wife of the late Victor J. Alexander who she was married to for nearly 34 years and who preceded her in death on December 3, 1992.  Born Rosa Pasqualina Carolina Chiarito on January 19, 1931, in Torrington, the daughter of the late Raffaele ‘Ralph’ and Caterina ‘Catherine’ (Giambersio) Chiarito both of Ginestra, Province of Potenza, Basilicata, Italy. Rose was a graduate of Torrington High School class of 1948 and worked as Secretary / Treasurer to the Principal of Torrington High School for approximately 10 years until she married Victor. She loved music, cooking Italian food and adored her family.She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Alexander of Torrington; her son, Mark Alexander and his wife, Isabelle, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her brother Daniel Chiarito and sister Elvira 'Vera' (Chiarito) Sody.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church. There are no calling hours and burial will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Phalen Funeral Home.
