Paul H MacDonald, 85 of Torrington, Connecticut passed away at home Feb. 2, 2019.surrounded by his daughters.. He was married to Doris Jean (Ragalye) MacDonald who passed in 2010. Born in Belfast, Maine, August 11, 1933 to the late Clifford MacDonald and the late Agnes (Howard) MacDonald, Williamson.
Educated in schools in Maine, Goshen and Torrington. He attended Waterbury State Technical School and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served in the Army traveling to Germany, Italy and France. He was employed by Marola Motors, Cappy's Service station and The Torrington Company retiring in 1993. He enjoyed driving a school bus for special education students in his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, traveling to the casino in Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun, vacations in Maine with the family and to the Cape. He and Doris traveled to Brazil and Venezuela. He enjoyed his daily visits to Coffee House Plus and The Donut Station where he left an indelible mark on all met him.
He is survived by daughters: Lynn Marie (MacDonald) Rapsilber and her husband Vernon, Karen MacDonald and her fiance Howard Baldwin, and son Gary MacDonald. He is survived by
grandchildren: Garrett and Griffin Rapsilber, Matthew Lamson, Krista Stumbaugh and husband Raymond, Hayley MacDonald and Mariah MacDonald, great-grandchildren Grace and Franklin Williams. He is survived by brothers: Wilfred and wife Margaret, Clifford and wife Sandy and Charles MacDonald. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, brothers: Lawrence and Ernest. Special thanks to Smilow Cancer Center and saf and Dr. Brandt and Vitas Hospice and Acute Care for their care and support.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday Feb. 7th at 10AM at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday fro 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
