Nancy Pauline (Cimini) Jenkins
March 25, 1931 ~ December 10, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years OldNancy Pauline Cimini Jenkins, 86, of Harwinton, entered into eternal peace to the sounds of Christmas carols on Sunday, December 10, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 25, 1931, to Nancy (DeBaise) and Paul Cimini in Syracuse, NY and was predeceased by her siblings, Amelia Minick and Paul Cimini.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Wayne Jenkins. She is also survived by her son, Dennis Jenkins and wife Sharon, of Torrington daughter Audra Boccardi and husband Peter, of Southington, and daughter Debra Viets and husband David, of New Hartford. She'll be deeply missed by her five grandchildren: Randy Jenkins, of Torrington, Heath Jenkins, of Bristol, Elizabeth Boccardi, of Southington, Lauren Viets, and Rachel Viets, of New Hartford. Her special bond with each of them and her gift of simple quality time spent in the pool, playing games, sharing ice cream, watching movies, will forever be cherished.
After graduating Valedictorian of her high school class, she lived in Miami, where she met her husband. She held several positions in the secretarial field before spending years as a homemaker raising her children, then returned to work and retired from the City of Torrington as a Secretary to the Chief of Police. She was a Charter member of the Chief of Police Secretary's Association (COPSA), and continued to enjoy luncheons with fellow members into retirement.
Nancy was the epitome of a life well lived. She enjoyed all things water related: boating on Lake George, time by the ocean, and swimming laps in her pool until months before her death. She valued travel with her husband on motorcycle trips and later, by motorhome. They travelled across the US by motorhome to Cabo San Lucas, MX for years, meeting friends along the way. Her years of retirement were spent with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her Mah Jongg group, her knitting friends, at the theater, watercolor painting, and keeping in touch with friends and family near and far. She was a devout Catholic, as a communicant at Our lady of Hope Church in Harwinton. The family wishes to thank Palliative and Hospice Teams of the Visiting Nurses of CT and APRN Melanie Mollica for their outstanding medical guidance and care. Donations may be made in Nancy's name to Lourdes of Litchfield.
