On Thursday, January 11, 2018, Mary Bolan, beloved mother, aunt,(great) grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully with family by her side.

Mary, born in Waterbury, CT. on February 24, 1923, was the daughter of Dr. John and Irene Gilmartin. Mary attended Trinity College and graduated from University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, CT. After college, Mary taught Home Economics for the Waterbury Public School District.

Mary was married for 52 years to her husband, George E. Bolan, who passed away in November 2000. Mary is also predeceased by her sons Andrew, Chris and Bill Bolan. She is lovingly remembered by her children Greg (Becky), Tom, Bud, and Chip (Tracy); her daughters Katherine (Gary) Weed and Irene (Kevin) Small and her daughter-in-law, Betsy Bolan. She is survived by 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Mary enjoyed life and had a variety of interests. She loved spending time with family and friends, square dancing, making arts/crafts, sewing, gardening, camping, retiring in Goshen and watching those UCONN Huskies! Mary was tenacious and persevered through life’s difficulties. Mary will forever be in our hearts.

The wake is to take place at St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Goshen, CT. at 10:30 am with funeral service immediately following.
