Marjorie Ruth (Hurlbut) Harrison

Marjorie Ruth Harrison, 94, widow of R. Stanley Harrison, formerly of Bristol, died August 7th, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.

She was born in Torrington, CT on January 7, 1924, daughter of the late Gertrude A (Crutch) and Ernest L Hurlbut of Torrington. Mrs Harrison attended Torrington Public Schools and married in 1951.. She worked at Michael's Jewelers in both Torrington and Bristol, and was Office Manager at Bristol Lincoln-Mercury until her retirement in 1975, when she joined her husband on his travels as Grand Master of the Connecticut Masonic Grand Lodge. She was a 50 year member of Ephraim Kirby Chapter 75 O.E.S.

Her focus was on family and friends and she took special pleasure in catering for their weddings and other special occasions. She was also a talented seamstress.

She is survived by a sister Eleanor Ruot of Newtown, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister Marion Riggs.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 11th at the Chapel at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington, CT immediately followed by internment. www.phalenfuneral.com.
