MARGARET MARY :Peggy" MAULE

August 31,1929 to December 31,2017

Peggy passed away peaceably at the age of 88 on December 31,2017, at The Summit at Plantsville nursing home in Southington, Connecticut, after a 14-month struggle with dementia.

She was born in Torrington, Connecticut, on August 31, 1929, the daughter of the late Albert Merci Sr. and Louise Winters Merci.

She worked many years for G. C. Murphy & Co. in downtown Torrington. Peggy also worked at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, and Forman School in Litchfield, Connecticut.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gerald H. Maule of Torrington. She also leaves behind her daughter Suzette Lemieux Barker and her husband Fred of Goshen, Connecticut, and her daughter Annette Lemieux of Massachusetts,  granddaughter Margaret Barker Stauffer and her husband Jason of Florida, and grandson Richard Barker and his wife Sarah of New Mexico,five great-grandchildren: Catherine and Christopher Stauffer of Florida; and Joshuah, Daniel, and Zachariah Barker of New Mexico.  She also leaves three step-children: Jerry Maule and his wife Terry of Florida, Kathy Fisher and her husband Paul of Florida, and Tom Maule and his wife Sue of Massachusetts, as well as several Sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her first husband Joseph R. E. Lemieux of Barkhamsted, Connecticut, her brother Albert Merci II of Plainville, Connecticut, and her sister Agnes Tazzara of Torrington.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Book of Remembrance at the Church of Christ, Congregational, PO Box 216, Goshen, CT 06756.Funeral services will be held Saturday May 12 1:00 PM at Goshen Center Cemetery, Goshen, Connecticut.  www.phalenfuneral.com
