Lillian (Mignone) Hodkoski

Lillian Mignone Hodkoski, 96, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2019 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center in Torrington.  Lillian was born in Torrington, CT on December 16, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Rose (Ross) Mignone.  She married Henry Hodkoski of Thomaston, CT on February 8, 1945 at St. Peter’s Church in Torrington.   They met while working at the Torrington Company.  A homeworker, Lillian enjoyed needlework projects, collecting antiques, participating in sports well into her 80’s, including tennis, golf, bowling, and card playing and was an avid fan of UCONN men’s and women’s basketball teams.  Upon her husband’s retirement, as owner of the Tip Top Store in Litchfield, CT, Henry and Lillian wintered in Delray Beach, Florida.  She was a devoted wife and mother of two children.  She is survived by her son, Donald Hodkoski and his wife, Nancy of Goshen, daughter Charlene (Sherry) Liner and her husband, Chick of Winchester and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband of 59 years, she was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine (Bunchie) Cassin and Mae (Bibby) Yuchunas, one brother Albert (Sonny) Mignone and godson, Richard A. Cassin.

Memorial Donations in Lillian’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd. S, Southington, CT 06489 or to the Transportation or Chore Programs, Sullivan Senior Center, 88 East Albert Street, Torrington, CT 06790A private service was held to honor Lillian’s life.  There were no calling hours.
