Josephine Dziedzic, 83, of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 18th, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Stanley J. Dziedzic Sr. who died four days earlier on August 14, 2018.
Josephine was born in Milton, CT on June 14, 1935, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Woodington) and James Knox. She worked as an assembler for American Backplane until her retirement.
Her number one priority was her husband of 65 years, Stanley. She enjoyed cooking, family dinners, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She was very generous and supported multiple charities. She was hospitable and welcomed all into her home, and was a mother to all. She loved to play jokes on people and had a keen sense of humor and fighting spirit. She kept smiling and enjoying life despite suffering from a devastating disease. She was loved by all who met her.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley Dziedzic Jr. and his wife Susan, Timothy Dziedzic and his wife Susan Michelle, daughters Lynn Anderson, Colleen Dziedzic, Cynthia DuBois and husband Joseph and many grandchildren and a great grandchild, and a sister Frances Parsons. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by sons Lawrence and Matthew Dziedzic and four brothers, James, Robert (Skip), John, and Frank Knox Sr.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23rd, 9:30 from Phalen Funeral Home to Saint Francis Church for a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
