Jean  McKenna

 Jean (Delaney) McKenna, 86, of 50 Proprietors Lane Torrington, CT, passed away  Saturday, October 19th, with her family by her side at Litchfield Woods.  She was the widow of  Dr. James F. McKenna.

Jean was born in Derby, CT on October 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Henrietta (Scholz) and George  Delaney.

She was a communicant of St. Thomas of Villanova Church Goshen,  a member of Torrington Jaycees,  Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxilliary, St. Francis Mother Club and was a nurse for United States Cadet Nurse Corp.during World War II.

Jean is  survived by five sons: James McKenna and his wife, Joyce, of Torrington; Casey McKenna and his wife, Susan, of Torrington; Michael McKenna and his wife, Teresa, of Torrington; Peter McKenna and his wife, Shirley, of Torrington, and Christopher McKenna and his wife, Delfina, of Harwinton; three daughters: Lauren McKenna and her husband, Bob Lenart of Torrington; Mary Panagrosso and her husband, Ralph, of Woodbury; and Kathleen Valigursky and her husband, Andrew, of Torrington; 20 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Diana Gath, Edna Tieman, and Debbie Costa for all the loving care given to their Mom over the past couple of years.

Funeral will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 9:00 AM from Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington, to St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Goshen for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Torrington. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
