Mr. Fries was the beloved principal of Southwest School in Torrington when I was there in the 1960's. Under his guidance it was a nurturing learning environment, and I have so many fond memories of him, the staff and the school. A job well done- may he rest in peace.

I was so very sorry to read of your father's death. He was our neighbor on Seymour Street and my first principal at Southwest School. The last time I saw him was at my father's funeral. The world will miss the great man hat he was!

I attended Southwest School from 1975 to 1981, when Mr. Fries was principal. His gentle nature and friendly guidance made a lasting impression on me. Wishing all his family peace and happy memories.
