Evelyn H (Hemphill) Bernat

Evelyn H. Bernat, 100, of Berlin CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, December 28th, at Valerie Manor in Torrington.

In eternal peace, Evelyn joins her husband Edward, son Graham, her parents and two brothers.  Evelyn was born and raised in Claremont, NH, moving to Connecticut at the age of 17

She was retired from the State of Connecticut. She had a tremendous love of horses entering in many horse shows. She loved sports cars including an original Thunderbird. She was a lover of all animals, cats and dogs and wildlife she fed from her back porch.

She is survived by daughter in law and cherished caregiver, Amy Norton of Harwinton, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and one gr.gr. granddaughter.
