Eugene Purcha

Eugene Purcha, 63, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, September 29th, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by family. He was the husband of Janina Adamiec Purcha.
Eugene was born in Poland, on April 12, 1954, son of the late Aniela Skrzypiec, and had served in the US Navy. He was most recently employed by All Star Transportation and had also worked for Gregor Technologies, Homer Bronson, Kimberly Clark, and New Departure.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Angelica and husband Mark Dziewa, a son, Thomas Purcha, and granddaughter Monika Dziewa, as well as several cousins.
 
Gene enjoyed wearing bow ties for special occasions, riding his motorcycle in his Teva sandals, going for rides in his convertible and spending time with his granddaughter.  He also enjoyed hiking and camping in the mountains of New England. Gene will be greatly missed by his Sunday afternoon Sunny Brook walking partner, co-pilot and 4 legged best friend, Buddy. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held  11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 3rd at Saint Mary Church in Torrington with burial following at New Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the Mass 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington.  http://www.phalenfuneral.com/
