Torrington, CT - Elizabeth Gellatly Daner, 83, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Litchfield, CT.  Ms. Daner was born September 1, 1933 in New York City, NY.  She was the daughter of William Bonwill Gellatly and Elizabeth Shaw Montgomery.

Betty wanted everyone to know that her work on earth is done.  She received a call for a rendezvous from which she will not be returning.  It’s a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.  Her new pursuit takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, shopping, and reading to her heart’s content… not to mention rooting at the top of her lungs for the UConn Huskies.  But most of all, her memories of her loving family will guarantee to fill her limitless time in heaven.

Betty left a legacy of deep rooted family values. Her mission is now complete and her family will continue with the legacy she has left behind. Betty is predeceased by her husband Stephen Nedorostek Daner and her sister Madeline Larsen.  She is survived by her children Linda Roth and husband Steven of Torrington, Bill Daner and his wife Lynn of St. Cloud, FL and Keith Domack and his wife Debbie of Kingston, NY.  Grandchildren Rob Goodwin III and wife Darcie of Winsted, Steven Goodwin and wife Carly of Torrington, Samantha Wald and husband Klayton of Torrington, Stefanie Roth of Meriden, Jennifer Roth of Torrington and Lauren Schroeder and husband Clint of St. Cloud, FL.  Great grandchildren, Gavin Ellis, Sophia Wald, Greyson Goodwin, Clara Schroeder and Danny Brewer.  She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Alice Leonard for providing Betty her long-term personalized care allowing her to remain independent in her home.  The family would also like to thank the caregivers and staff of Rose Haven Nursing Home and VNS Hospice of Torrington for the love and compassion they provided.

We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey.  We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life and her love for her family and friends.  She made a difference in the lives of many.

Family and friends are invited to Phalen Funeral Home   285 Migeon Avenue  Torrington, CT 06790 on Tuesday, May 2nd for visitation with the family from 5:00 to7:00 PM.

The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd at Phalen Funeral Home at 10:00 AM
