Edward Leichner

Edward Leichner, 88, of Torrington passed away peacefully Sept. 5, 2017 at Valerie Manor. Born Oct. 14 1928 in Torrington he attended Torrington Schools and served in the US Army during WWII. He married the love of his life, Maureen Murphy May 9, 1953. He was a self employed, hard working, talented carpenter who never hesitated to help family or friends. He was a life long member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church serving on the Church Council and Property Committee. He was also an avid UCONN Womens' Basketball fan. He will be remembered for his big smile, kindness, sense of humor, quest for justice, and loyalty.

He is survived by a daughter Ellen Leichner, granddaughter Rachel Jenkins and grandson Jon Labrecque and great grandchildren Deonte Jenkins and Ava McKinney, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife Maureen and sons Jimmy and David.
