Doreen Margaret (Battistoni) Purcell

Doreen Margaret (Battistoni) Purcell 77 of Surfside Beach, SC passed away peacefully with her son Thomas by her side on July 6, 2017.   Born February 23, 1940, she was the beloved wife of the late Richard K Purcell and daughter of the late John and Caroline (Campetti) Battistoni.

Doreen was retired from Marshalls of Avon CT.  She loved spending time with her friends, family, and her grandchildren.  She enjoyed the beach, camping, golfing, crafting and most of all she loved to knit. 

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Purcell)  Domaszewski, and Cheryl Purcell of Torrington, and her sons John Purcell of Florida and Thomas Purcell and wife Andrea of South Carolina.  She is also survived by her brothers Paul Battistoni of South Carolina, Louis Battistoni of Harwinton and her sister Margherita Serra of Rhode Island, grandsons Johnathon, Christopher, Justin and Kyle Purcell and great-grandchildren Brettanie, Gabriella, and Alexander Purcell.

Calling hours will be at Phalen Funeral Home Monday July 31st from 5-7 PM.  Service Tuesday August 1st 10:30AM at Phalen's preceding  burial at New Saint Francis Cemetery,Torrington
