Devin S. Gilbert, 24, of Pleasant Valley, CT passed away Friday, May 11th. Born in Torrington on June 7, 1993 son of James and Denise (Bagnall) Gilbert of Pleasant Valey, he graduated from Norhwestern Regional High Class of 2011. He was employed by Better Blades Landscaping. He loved the outdoors and being in nature, walking barefoot on his hikes, taking morning dips in the brook and watching the sun rise on beach rock. Devin had a great passion for music. Playing in his band," Credible Evidence" with one of his greatest inspirers, Stephen Krzynowek, and his deepest life long friend, Connor McManamy. Devin extended his proudly refined skill by nourishing the generation to rise; teaching guitar at Mad River Music next to the man who did the same for him, Frank Gugliemino. We all saw God's wonder and amazement through Devin's beautiful eyes. There is no one word to describe this beautiful spirit and kind loving soul. He taught us kindness, compassion, Empathy, and generosity. He is beauty, he is grace, he is pure unwavering love. Thank you Devin for sharing your Journey with us all and spreading your light. You will forever be in our hearts and give us peace.
In addition to his parents, he leaves brothers Timothy Gilbert and wife Jamie of Pleasant Valley Shane Gilbert of Winsted, and Noah Gilbert of Pleasant Valley, Tyler Bagnall of Hawaii as well as his great grandmother Mildred Johnson of Colebrook and God mother and Great Aunt Sandi Wilson.
The essence of life that Devin Gilbert expressed has always been felt, has ever existed. Although, for us who have felt it we gave it his name. But, it is this same wholesome joy in being, that shall surpass Time and the lives of every one who mourn for a loss.
When you are walking down the street, at a store, or any where on this Earthly classroom, this feeling will never been further than your heart. It is your soul. Share it."
His family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday May 16 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington. Contributions can be made to a scholarship fund in his name. online memorials http://www. phalenfuneral.com
