Christopher Fetera

Christopher S. Fetera, 66, of Torrington, CT passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 13, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Nancy Morea  Fetera and devoted father to Krystina Fetera.  Krystina was the light of his life. He enjoyed teaching Krystina how to fish while she was growing up and looked forward to their many expeditions together. They also have fond memories of annual family vacations in New Hampshire
Christopher was born in New Britain, CT on January 3, 1952 the son of Bernice (Wondolowski) Fetera and the late Stanley Fetera. Growing up he proudly served as an altar boy at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. He was a graduate of New Britain High School in 1970 and later briefly attended St Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield. He remained a devout Catholic for the remainder of his life.
He retired from Pratt & Whitney in Southington after 25 years of service. He later worked at Walmart for many years in shipping and receiving in Torrington. He has been retired since 2014.
He enjoyed fishing (especially with his Uncle Benny) and he loved bowling. His most memorable tournament was when he met his wife Nancy. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #372 since 1980.
He is also survived by his only brother Robert Fetera and wife Kim of Wallingford, his sister in law and brother in law Mary and Robert Petrucci of Newington, as well as his nieces and nephews Erica Fetera, Michael Fetera, and Kenneth and Carlee Levin, his great niece Kiah Levin and great nephew Joshua Levin. He leaves behind many loving cousins both here in the States and in Poland. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am on Monday, August 20th at Saint Francis Church in Torrington, CT Burial will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery.
Calling hours for friends and family are 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 19th at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington.
