Chester Jablonski Obituary

Mr. Chester Jablonski, age 97, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2018 surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Mary(Tuozzo), whom he was wed for 71 years.

Mr. Jablonski was born in Stamford, CT on September 2, 1920, he was the son of the late George and Victoria(Chmielowiec) Jablonski. He moved to Poland when he was four years old and then returned to this country in his early twenties.  At that time, he joined the US Army and served as a Technician Fifth Grade 82nd Division Company D in World War II European and African campaigns. Upon his Honorable Discharge he settled in Torrington where he resided for the remainder of his life.  Before retiring, Chester had worked as a machinist for the Torrington Company for 44 years. He also worked nearly that long for Ed's Super Service as an automobile mechanic.  Chester was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and a member of the Holy Name
Society. He enjoyed gardening and grew several varieties of tomatoes and cucumbers.  He and Mary started skiing mid-life and continued to enjoy ski vacations together well
into their later years. They also were avid dancers. Chester also enjoyed both fresh water and salt water fishing.

Chester is survived by his wife, Mary; his three sons, George Jablonski and his wife Carol of Manchester, Bruce Jablonski and his wife Darr of Arvada, Colorado, and Gary Jablonski and his wife Rosemary of Watertown. He also leaves his two grandchildren, Benjamin Jablonski and Katherine Jablonski. Also a step granddaughter Leigh Ann Sarmiento and her husband David and a step great grandson Trevor Sarmiento, of Thornton, Colorado, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Adolph Jablonski and a sister Marjanna Zarth.  Private Services are at the convenience of the family.  www.phalenfuneral.com
