Beatrice Wilcox

Beatrice (Bea) Irene Wilcox of Torrington, Connecticut, passed on December 4, 2018 at the age of 73.

Beloved wife of the late Raymond Wilcox Loving sister of James Heller, adored mother to Jeannine Luhrs and Denise Adam. Bea is also survived her two sons-in-law, five grandchildren, one great grandson, and countless cousins and other family members. She will always be remembered for her kindness, open arms and boundless enthusiasm. Her home was a gathering place for everyone and all were welcome. An avid writer, she was ever ready with a story to tell. Her smile greeted each day with vigor and eagerness, and her beautiful smile and infectious laughter will forever echo in our hearts.

She retired from Connecticut Department of Transportation after many years of service and became active in several organizations including a local writer's guild, the Red Hat Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.  The light that was Bea will continue to shine bright within all that knew her.

Memorial service to be held on December 16th, 2pm to 5pm at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave, Torrington CT.Donations may be sent to Hospice Care Network, 99 Sunnyside Blvd., Woodbury, NY 11797 in her memory.
