Annie E (Bean) Vail

Annie E Vail, 95, of Torrington, CT, passed away Saturday, December 2nd, at Litchfield Woods. She was the wife of the late Thomas H. Vail who died in 1982

She was born in Westminister, VT on April 16, 1922, a daughter of the late Bertha and Henry Bean. Attending of Rutland High she moved to Torrington in her senior year and graduated from Torrington High. She was a waitress at Torrington Country Club and was also employed by Ellis Ski Information Center in Torrington. She was a 64 year member of First Congregational Church in Torrington and a member of The Four Corner Circle-FCC, and Drakeville Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary. she loved to knit and crochete and woodworking and was involved with the annual quilt making at First Congregational Church. An excellent artist, she painted for family and friends and enjoyed cooking and baking and visiting neighbors.

She is survived by daughters Janet Iffland and Barbara D'Andrea and husband Daniel of Torrington, 4 grandchildren Christine Sinapoli and husband Mark of Suffield, Daniel D'Andrea Jr and significant other Dawn Hemard of Plainville, Jennifer Alexander and husband Roland of Torrington and Nicole Illikman and husband Bradley of Humble TX,  great grandchildren Olivia Sinapoli, Mia Iffland Soundara, and Brodie Illikman, Roland Alexander III, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers George, Robert, and Leon Bean and close friend Joe Baldwin.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9th at First Congregational Church 835 Riverside Ave in Torrington, CT . Memorial Contributions can be made to the Church. www.phalenfuneral.com
