William Derby Obituary

William A. Derby, 60, of Torrington passed away Feb. 29,2024 at Charlotte Hugerford Hospital. Born in Sharon, June 10, 1963, he was the son of the late Arthur W. and Mildred (Bottum) Derby. He was employed by Forestville Lumber Co and also ShopRite in Canton. He enjoyed sharp shooting and playing pool and was an APA Pool League Member. He is survived by his brother Glen Derby, nieces Morgan Derby and Lynn Strattman, and nephew Leroy Strattman. He also leaves close friend Theresa Crowell and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Christine Strattman.

The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday March 9th from 10-Noon at Phalen Funeral Home. Burial will be private at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to The Cancer Association.
