Torrington --- Gordon Thomas Good Jr., 85, passed away Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, at his home in Cape Cod.

Gordon (Gordy) was born in Torrington on January 22nd, 1939, son of the late Gordon Sr. and Lydia (Bloom) Good and had been a lifelong city resident. Gordon worked at Hillside Cemetery his whole life and cared deeply for the families of Torrington. He took over the cemetery from his father and passed the torch to his son. Running a cemetery was a privilege to Gordon and put his heart and soul into his career.

Gordon loved his wife Karen to no end. They spent the end of their lives taking rides to the ocean, enjoying the views and seafood. He spent a lot of time visiting with his neighbors Jake, Laura and the kids. Along with Bill and Barb. Gordon and his son Brian were inseparable, there is no bond stronger than what they had. It wasn’t a night without a beer being shared between the two, and a “cheers guy, good-luck.” Gordon is the light that touched so many people's lives, and we are all so thankful to have known him.

Gordon was predeceased by his wife Karen (Dohanyos) Good; brother Lindsey and wife Paula; and sister-in-law Dori Dohanyos. Survivors include son Brian T Good and wife Rebecca A (Slate) Good, and granddaughter Laura E. Calver; a daughter Kim (Good) Longhi and late husband Robert Longhi, and granddaughter Alyssa (Longhi) Carusillo and husband Andrew Carusillo and 2 great-grandsons Ashton and Abel; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be a private service held this summer. online memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
