William A Shaffer

 William A. Shaffer 78, of  Torrington, CT passed away Wednesday, February 10th, at Litchfield Woods.
He was the husband of 52 years of Margaret Rohlfs Shaffer.  He was born in Waterbury, CT on June 8, 1937, a son of the late Lydia (Baer)  and William A Shaffer, Sr.He served in the US Army Signal Corp in Arizona.  He worked as a tool grinder at The Torrington Company for over 30 years and was a Ham Radio Operator for many years, "WA1ZOO".
In addition to his wife,  he leaves a son, William J Shaffer of Torrington and a daughter Barbara Shaffer of Coventry,  several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sisters Caroline Rosenbeck and Lois Pawson.
 A Memorial Service will be held  at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church 837 Charles St Torrington 11 AM on Tuesday, February 16th.  Memorial Contributions can be made to Saint Paul's Church Book of Remembrance 837 Charles St Torrington or Smilo Cancer Center 200 Kennedy Dr Torrington CT 06790.
